Etch Artisan

Landing Page design & development

Project overview

The project:

Etch Artisan is a cosmetic tattooing specialist based in Brisbane. The client wanted to make a new landing page to promote their cosmetic tattooing classes for new and experienced students.

The redesign was based on their current website, the landing page has the same brand identity but is updated to a new trendy design.

Project duration:

Feb 2022

My role:

  • Competitor research
  • Sketch & wireframe

Usability study and reviews: Findings

I conducted usability studies and reviewed them with the client. These discussions helped refine the final design. Since I was using Elementor for this project, I had to use one of their function and I had to look through what I could do with Elementor to solve the problems.

I determined that the courses section took up too much space. This may cause the user to get scrolling fatigue when looking through all the courses.

The price information was repeated in the courses section and pricing & payment options.

The client was not happy with the placement of the form as it covered the hero image.

Refining the design

Finding 1 & 2

After the usability test, I tried to find a way to show the courses in both clear way and short areas. I changed this section taps with accordion. It’s easier for the user to find the information that they want.

One more thing, I got rid of the payment option after discussing it with the client.

Finding 3

After the client review, I moved the form down. The hero image is clear for the user to see the process of the cosmetic tattooing.

Final design

Takeaways

Impact

This landing page gives the chance for the user to explore the information about the courses and apply to the courses. As well as the client could have a better way to reach their potential students.

What I learned

Before starting working with the client, I should have a meeting with the client and interview them about what they want. Sometimes the client doesn’t have a solid idea so while interviewing the client, should get as many as ideas they want and what their goal is.
